C180 2002
Hi all, I had a problem with my C180, driving along and put foot all the way down to overtake and nothing happened,I think the car went into limp mode as there was no acceleration.Any way I stopped for about 15 mins, restarted and all is sweetness and light again. Returned home and looked to see if any codes appeared, P2002 poped up which is particle filter blocked..which is strange as mine is a petrol car not diesel.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Which tool are you using to read the codes ?

As above. Generic OBDII scanners cannot really provide any meaningful insight into issues with modern engines. What you need is an MB-specific code scanner. Ideally you would go to see a specialist who will have the proper MB STAR Diagnostic Computer. Failing that, get yourself an iCarsoft MB v2.0 scanner, but check first to see that your model is covered (2002 C180). Either-way, without an MB scanner, any repair attempt will be a shot in the dark.

I used the torque app, I have cleared the code and all is peachy. As an aside the ECU was sent to mercedes for tweaking by my garage as I was having emission problems, not sure if they did anything..

Mercedes can only do software updates if the engine control unit is fitted to the vehicle, can't be done on a bench. Are you sure it was done by them? I expect the lambda sensor was deleted and done by a re-mapper. I expect the code to be because of this as its an emission code. I maybe way off but that my guess.

The Torque app uses generic Elm327 Bluetooth reader. This tool may delete the fault code, but it won't help with diagnosing the issue if the fault code returns.

I think you are right,as I was having lots of problems with emissions, eventually the 2 lambda sensors were changed and the garage took off a hose(didnt say which) and it eventually passed its MOT.
