Any help will be very gratefully received, I replaced the main battery in my facelift 2013 E350 bluetec yesterday, all went well, car tested fine, when starting the car this morning, the engine light was on and I’m getting code P245D, EGR cooler bypass circuit high, so I pulled the battery out again, to check all the wiring around it, to see if I had damage something putting the battery in, but I couldn’t find anything obvious, I even tried the original battery, but the code won’t clear, does any have any idea where I need to look? Thank you.

Changing the battery may have upset the adaption data.

I would check all fuses and then re-set all the adaptation data with an appropriate diag tool and then see if that works.

Thanks, but I found that adaption isn’t necessary on Mercs of this era, but I’m going on what is said on threads and YouTube, but I have contacted a local Indy and I’m waiting on them, I hate having to take my car to a garage, but electrics is not my thing unfortunately. ☹️

Well luckily for me, I found the fault and repaired it pretty easily and cheaply, the fault turned out to be the vacuum changeover solenoid valve, not switching, fitted a new one, the code and engine light disappeared, very happy I didn’t need to go to a specialist or dealer. 😁
