Strange Engine noise only on startup - CLK55 W209

I have just bought myself CLK55 Cab on a 53 plate and when I picked up the car it was VERY low on fuel. On my way to the closest petrol pump when I felt the dreaded misfiring knowing it was going to cut out soon...and it did. So, after filling up with a petrol can followed by supoer unleaded I now get a harsh sound coming from the engine on startup almost as if it turns over more than it needs to. The noise is only there for under a second but it is failry loud and definately not normal. When buying the car it did not make this sound so the lack of petrol has caused this I think.

Just to let you know that the culprit was a faulty starter motor - once replaced all was nice and smooth
