Strange Issue

Strange issue:-

My 2015 E Class drives brilliantly and to all intents works perfectly. Over 1000 miles this week for instance.

However on occasion the gearbox doesn't engage any gear from start up. Restart the car and after a couple of goes the car works perfectly again.

Just done a code check and the following came up-

Mercedes P1709 07e9

Any thoughts?

Can anyone lead me in the right direction?

Hi Jon, think that code is a gear selector switch problem which would make sense from what you describe. Did you get the codes read from a star diagnostic machine?

Solved. It was the Aux battery that was dead, replaced and now no longer an issue.
