Hi all,

I wonder if anyone can offer any advice ? Is there such a thing that i can plug into my laptop and another thing that i can plug into the hi-fi and play music on the lappy and have it come out of the hi-fi without having a 10m phono cable ?

Nothing fancy , just something basic ...

Cheers

A Wii? Oh you said basic.

We bought one as a family present at Christmas - downloaded Winamp Remote, installed on our server machine (laptop in your case), Wii is connected to the DVD/Surround system anyway. Had all running on Boxing day.

Steve

P.S. Winap remote will also do videos, not not photos (but the Wii will browse our photo albums web pages which are backed up on the server).

On a similar note, I want to stream stuff recorded on my PS3 using PlayTV onto the bedroom telly.

What can I do?

A simple way, particularly if you use iTunes, is the Apple Airport Express Base Station (£64)

You plug the Airport in by your hifi & take an audio out from the Airport to the Aux in of your amplifier. You can select what to play from iTunes & change the volume as well. It uses WiFi

Other devices include the Sonus units and the Squeezebox
