Hello

Having some issues with my shift lever.

Noticed that my shift lever became harder to shift out of park until today, where it came stuck.

When I switch off and switch ignition again, am then able to get the lever out of park.

I have a diagnostic tool and had fault code P1925 - “ Drive authorisation has been refused by control module selecter lever module”.

Was reading a bit online and found that it could be braking switch, shift lever module, bad battery.

Was wondering if anyone could help me on that. That would be great.

Thanks
Jake

Has anything been spilt over the selector lever area?

A faulty brake switch can also cause the symptoms you are experiencing. A full diagnosis with a Star machine will almost certainly pin it down.

Could be a problem with the brake switch. If the brake light is not on when you push on the brake, the switch might be the source of trouble. Make sure that it is plugged in and functioning. There is a connection between the switch and the shift interlock mechanism.

As posted could well be the brake switch, might be worth a look, you have to take the panel off that is above the pedals that should be held on by torx screws normally 4 or 5 of them then you should with a back braking contortion see the switch just check the connections, you never know on matbe lose.

Thanks guys for your inputs.

Checked the connections and all seem good.

I believe the brake light switch is good because when I press the brake pedal, the shift lever makes a faint click. So, I believe the communication between the switch and selector module is ok.

I heard about a plastic piece which is prone to break and to cause lever to stuck in park. Does anyone know how to remove that plastic part?

Thanks
Jake
