Hi all,

Disaster yesterday opened sunroof then when I went to close it would move forward an inch then stop like it had hit something and move back. Of course there was then a massive heavy shower had to throw some coats over it! I was actually by a mercedes dealer at the time so called in there. They were worse then useless guy came out and said can't do anything and it's 2 hours labour to diagnose. Got home and sprayed wd40 onto tracks left it for 10 mins and tried again. This time with a tiny bit of help it got past the point it was sticking but stopped when it hit the front wind deflector net. A tiny bit of pressure on retrying got it fully closed. I have serviced the roof myself about 18mths ago using the mercedes lube. I'm now scared to try it again incase it never closes. Anyone else come across this before and is there a manual way to close the roof if I do try to open it again?

Thanks

A bit more car info would be helpful..
It would normally describe what to do in your owner's handbook.

Same happened to my E63 w212 2013 recently, Sprayed some wd40/silicone, managed to close roof seems ok now but still can’t close the blind only moves abit

Plugged in diagnostic codes are stuck roof actuator motor. I’ve not used car for few months so perhaps the cold weather/rain have contributed.

Yes you can close manually have to remove the interior light/switch panel
To access the mechanism.
