ive tried the reddex way straight into the pot, unfortunatly for me it hasnt worked..ive got a ex mechanic from ford and he s attempting to take rocker cover off and trying to free said valve.now i dont know didly squat about engines, and what i was wondering is whether he could cause any more damage than there is or could it work??
im sick to death at throwing money at this car and im rapidily falling out of love with her...
like i said, ive been quoted £500 to mend the car but i havnt got the funds ..any help would be most appreicated..:(

The other thing it could be is a faulty hydraulic tappet and taking the rocker cover off will gain access to these.

If a valve has stuck down it will probably have been clouted by the piston so bent the valve stem.

had the valve stems replaced not many months ago,do you think the garage could be at fault?? could i prove it??

I can only see it being a binding stem to guide, due to either too small guide or slight crushing on seal removal.
The guides are only soft metal and can be crushed when pulling a seal off. That could trap a valve when the cam pushes it down.

Other than spring breakage or hydraulic tappet jacking up, I can't see how a valve would stick, normally.
