am i missing the e320 well a little bit iv owned the subaru since august and the 2 cars are night and day the noise off the subaru is near ear plugs required .
the handling of the subaru is realy excellent however its got quite a lot of understeer ooow err the merc didnt do that much .
the petrol consumtion is realy bad on the subaru at under 20 mpg and a best of 26 on a steady motoway run > performance wise the e320 cdi would be faster then the subaru on the motoway and in so much comfort aah the good life .... would i go back to the merc naaaah not on your nelly the quality on the subaru is second to none and no engine managment light as yet
no stealers pulling my pants down either .
next time you see a subaru imprezza just think growler has one of them and he is off to the nurburgring in june , take care thanks for reading my little thread .:D:bannana: :bannana: :bannana: :bannana: :bannana:

What you are looking for is an S or RS Audi.

Best of both worlds.

audi rs

didnt go for the evo think they are even worse for being a bit rally focused
subaru is slightly softer ..... you might be right with the audi recommendation
you never know live for the day find another garage and fill that baby up ;lol v power you goto love it .:D

While we are talking about Subaru's I had a little blast against one today in my CL500. The Subaru pulled up along side the CL and it's four occupants that were making some rude hand gestures before had a little "shock" afterwards and the look on their faces after the little run was priceless...:D Sorry if I have gone a little off topic.

What woukld your budget be if you were to change Growler?

I'm sure I read exactly that comment but the otherway round on "Scoobynet" .... ;)

skill levell

NICE vid that .

as for the subaru v merc old chestnut its all down to the human aspect
as in the driver capabilities .

i dare say if you put the above average driver in the two cars they probably would be quicker in the subaru its all down to the skill level and the ability to use what you have in the cars capabilities .

i would say that my e320cdi was faster motoway car and would hold 130 mph cruising no problem , with the subaru you are nearly at your limit in this area of the cars performance , not to mention the 39 miles to the gallon from the merc as well v subaru best 25 mpg .:D

Have the best of both, a silky smooth 6 cyclinder twin turbo 4 wheel drive and 4 wheel steer...............Nissan Skyline:rock:

merc v scooby

geoff we should just call you money bags from now on 2 cars ...... loaded :D

No, my son has the Skyline, I only have the E300 TD and S320:D :D

hello you lot how you doing , just a little note to the thread iv got all the modifications for 350bhp for the subaru watch this space ill post a report if anyone is interested .

still missing the e320cdi class one day ill have another im sure of it ,but for now im living the dream .

they are fun cars for sure mate, owned 3 subaru's in the past, my last one was an sti type R with over 400bhp!

all work done by myself apart from the ecu mapping, that was done by the master, mr Andy Forrest :)

you are right about the fuel consumption, its a killer!!!

but worth it for the smile it puts on your face :D

what model have you got???

have a look here at my old car- http://www.geocities.com/jonnygav2000/

Looks nice. The trouble is it needs at least 400BHP to justify the looks IMO. Not saying it looks bad, but it lasts fast, I'm here, look at me, come get me, I'm faster than you, I'm built for speed.

that is why i sold it mate, i used to get pestered buy the under 20's in corsa's and saxo's

not what you need when you are out for a sunday blast!

sure my SLK and 330 aren't anywhere near as fast but the young scrotes leave me alone now :)

worth it IMO

subaru update

yoo hoo you lot hows the mercs going hope your dash boards are like blackpool with service lights lol only joking .

update to the thread i posted some time ago -
fitted all my bits and got a estimated via computer simulation 325 / 330 .

not bad from a standard 228bhp .

realy happy with the car it pulls from 2800 full boost by 3100 then continues to pull cleanely and strongly to the red line of 7k although i was advised to change gear at 6k in order to put the car in the torque zone of 4300rpm .

hope your all well , keep it real and live for the day .:D

Good news !!

Hope all is well , welcome back ...
