I know a number of people think that in the UK, as we don't have a proper summer, there's no point of fitting 'Summer' tyres, but living in the south, where we get more sunlight, I think I'll be changing out my 'Winters' soon for some 'Summers' as the temps start increasing.

What are everyone's thoughts??

Unless labeled as all season or winter tyres are by default summer spec.

I can thoroughly recommend Michelin PS3 ...

'Summer' tyres are generally OK in the South East.

'Winter' or 'Cold Weather' tyres are a good idea if you live in colder areas of the UK.

Said that, the obvious risk that you are taking when driving on summer tyres throughout the year is that you might get stuck on the one or two days a year when it does snow heavily in the SE, or if you travel up north during the winter months.

I got vredestain quatrac 3 all weather tyres on the wife's Alfa Mito and they are brilliant. They are winter certified so great in the colder months and handle very well in the summer months too.
They are not cheap but a perfect compromise for a country like England.

Thread was meant to be a joke, albeit a very lame one. ;) ;)

You could have gone for "I'm fitting illegal immigrant tyres" as the country is full of illegal immigrants :D
