Today's whim.....I'm quite tempted by the thought of a fun <£3k car. Below are a few cars local to me. Help persuade me

BMW 3 SERIES 3.0i 330Ci Sport 2dr

Honda Civic 2.0i Type R 3dr

Renault Clio 2.0 16V Renaultsport 182 3dr

Ford Focus 2.0 ST170 3dr

Type R all day long!

Type R 's look the business but they need to be red lined to get anywhere. Far too frantic driving style for me.

I prefer the power and grunt of a V8.

I'd be happy with a V8, but happier with a car smaller and lighter than the usual V8 sized car. Most of my driving is on B roads.

No one has recommend the Clio, which was my favourite so far.

Amazing what you can find for relatively little money these days. BMW for me.

There's a facelift w210 estate E55 on eBay and is nearly finished and it's only at £2100 bid plenty space for your shopping!

Can't speak for the others but a Focus is very much like driving a go kart with super quick steering.

170bhp would be a hoot, I'd imagine.

Only on the racetrack, diesel taxis can outrun them when they are caught in the wrong gear. Rock hard suspension and electric steering that can jam in car parks, well mine was like that

that's the driver to blame!

I already own a diesel taxi car, so am looking for a car with a tangible difference. If I had to rank the cars.

1. Clio
2. Civic
3.3-series
4. Focus
