Sunglasses compartment R129 500Sl

Hi again.

Another drama. Last night I opened the top interior compartment on the centre console of my 500SL (called sunglasses compartment I think) and now it won't shut, seems the latch where the button is won't grab.

Has anyone had this problem before, and is it easy to fix? Or should I take it to an interior specialist? Little things like this drive me nuts so any help appreciated!

Think I remember having this issue, from memory there are a couple of screws that hold it in and if I remember correctly taking it out and then refitting it used to make it work again.
