Very nice boat Guy ....

Why sell it ? if its bought and paid for, mooring costs shouldn't be more than a couple of grand a year ....

I have driven one of these boats and can vouch for it being a lot of fun ..

Has it been stored at Sunseeker in Poole ?

I know a very nice place in Teddington you could moor it ! , my fathers marina.

And i also know someone who could bring it round from Poole for you ! ;)

Your father owns a marina in Teddington? wow!

You guys certainly know how to kick a guy when he's down. ;) ;)

Sounds a very nice boat, how I miss going out into the not so 'wild' blue yonder.

I wish you luck in selling it and to all you boat cruisers, Dartmouth and particularly Kingswear have excellent Marina's with brilliant coastal cruising.

Torquay and Brixham deserve a mention but in my opinion, the scenery and cruising does not compare.

Good luck Guy,
Regards,
John

Aha, this explains how he can have neighbours like Mr Parfitt.

Impressive.

I'm selling it as it costs money to moor / dry store - and its losing money by the day / year.

We already have three boats in the family - a With 13' with 4 hp tender, a 18' ? Boston Whaler with ?150HP and a 23' Mitchell (fishing boat)... (all in Salcombe, Devon) - the Sunseeker isn't really suitable for Salcombe...

Its stored at Davis's boatyard in Poole - Its called Escapade if anyone wants to see it... (enter yard, go right, 5th boat on left)

salcombe in devon is lovely, i have friends there and it is truly great for boating....luckily for me my family boat (fathers) is moored in Peurto Banus, Marbella...where the girls are pircey, the drinks are pricey, the flights are pricey but my accomodation is free! Great days. Oh, and i get to drive the CLS out there.

Why am i stuck in the West End in corporate hell  !!!!!!

I'm flying out there in two weeks for a few days. Any suggestions where to go, especially in the evenings?

Sorry for going off topic, lovely sounding boat btw.

Richard M - oddly enough my name is Richard Matthews...don't tell me this is coincidence?! - Puerto Banus is great for a night out....may help if you let me know how 'youthfully challenged' you are!

I am one of those '20-somethings' and dont think you can go wrong with the place...i regularly go on nights out with my dad (a fifty something - not to his face) and as a guys night out you cannot beat it and you wont struggle for places to go! A few i would suggest are Sinatra's bar, which is along the front of the port, its always busy and a good clientele (i.e no young holiday makers being sick but lots of people having a great time) with a good view of the boats. Loads of places along that main strip and - if you are anything like me and my father (which you are because you are here) you will LOVE LOVE LOVE watching the amazing cars go by on a weekend night. The two that stick in my mind are the purple Diablo that drives down the front (its a small street with the bars on one side and water on the other) shaking the glass in your hand with the exhaust note and the HUMMER that makes everyone enter a shop or bar as it cant fit down the street otherwise! It costs them 20euros a time to drive down there or they need a mooring at 10k a year. they do about 10 laps a night...loads of ferraris, AMGs, Porsches etc My fathers sl55, (gone for CLS 500) is two a penny over there.

If with a ladyfriend, which i also do regularly!, there are great restaurants everywhere, literally everywhere. Try the sea bass baked in salt - its the local delicacy. and suprisingly its not very salty!!!! There are also plenty of piano bars around for some good entertainment and some nice cocktails.

Golf? - you are in heaven.

Beaches - some really nice sandy ones and good beach bars.

Casinos - see golf

Kids - plenty for them to do and some good arcades etc, TGI Fridays and all that stuff about. Young boys like me would of loved the cars too.

Car garage near BMW one - went there to pick up the CLS - Zondas, F40s, 612 scagliettis etc...some unbelievable cars.

hope that is reasonably comprehensive - any thing else you need to know? oh, and if you drive - use the toll roads, the spanish dont use them and they are not that pricey really.the road surface is like glass smooth and no policia....we had the sl55 at max 155 on there last summer .....HAPPY!!!!!

p.s make sure your wallet is ddddeeeeeppppp for the few days! there are so many arabs on huge yachts and dodgy russians (we know a few now!) etc that the prices can sting as much as a Service A with brake discs and pads all round!

Thanks Richard. I'm 30 and I'm going with a couple of mates, one's just split with his girlfriend and wanted to get away. Should be good. We've booked a rental car to get around. Not into golf but like the sound having a few drinks watching the cars, boats and women!

In that case i suggest starting with sinatras for a few early dirnks (and by early dont go out till at least 10 as people wont even of had dinner by then) so aim to arrive for 10ish. Then move behind to the street that runs paralell to the main drag - this is where things get a little more 'interesting'....Hit as many bars a long here as you can till about 3am enjoying the beautiful women and free shots in many places. Drink of choice is a gin/vodka w/ mixer - they are so strong they will literally knock your eyes out. And i can handle a fair bit of drink from my uni/rugby days and it still only takes about 6 of these before i know its going to get messy! Then hit 'Pinks' for some entertainment - "its a dance joint,darling...not a nudie bar...promise" - before leaving at 4 30 to go to a club 'dreamers' is ok, 'pangea' is 20euro a drink but its good if you can get guestlist. I would suggest making it a bit further down the street to Linekers (run by Gary's brother) for some jumping on girls...which your newly single friend will no doubt like!

top night out. few warnings though:

1. the kebab shop near pinks and the leather shop. the do the best chicken gyros ever - but more than 2 each and you may get a heart attack.

2. watch out for 'pros' (as in women of disrepute) as they are mostly pickpockets.

3. The spanish police are not all that friendly so dont get too lary!!!!!!!!

Have a wicked time mate.
