Just been observing.
There is a slight haze but looks great.
It should look even better later :thumb:

And it's flipping cloudy here, so no chance of a decent photo.

Need a telescope...

Just been out and it still looks white this far south!

Pink supermoon illuminates night sky
In many cultures, including Native American tribes, people named the full moons throughout the year as a way to keep track of time.
So although April's full moon is known as the Pink Moon, don't expect it to look particularly pink!
It's named after pink flowers called wild ground phlox, which bloom in early spring and appear throughout the United States and Canada.
It is also called the Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon and the Fish Moon in other parts of the world.
Basically its a cultural description rather than a colour one.
It does pehaps deserve the moniker SUPER because the full moon will be at perigee-syzygy, meaning it will be closest to the Earth — 221,772 miles (356,907 kilometers) away — and the Earth, moon and sun will all align. This means that when a the moon is at perigee-syzygy, it will look larger and brighter than usual. But, because perigee-syzygy isn't that catchy, the term "supermoon" came about and this particular full moon was additionally nicknamed the "Super Pink Moon."

It was white here but there was a pink halo around it. Quite beautiful with the fish scale clouds last night.

White here too at 10pm, so I got up at 3.30 (!) as that was 'the best time'.

Not here it wasn’t .......hidden by the clouds

I looked out late last night , could see it partially hidden behind clouds , not pink and not looking particularly bigger than normal . Non event for me .

Early in History the Ancient Tribes (Clans) of the Jockineze discovered the Art of Distilling, no one in the Clans can ever remember how or why this Art came about but it spread all over Caledonia at a very rapid rate!

After a Month, some of the Clan Members were lying in the Gloaming, Pished as farts, when one looked to the Skies, and there is was, the Glowing, Shining and Very Bright Orb, known today as The Moon!

This Clan Member, being more Educated than the other decided, on that very Spot, to call this Magnificent Spectacle, “The Golden Moon” after the Clans name for the Distilled Nectar, “Wee Goldie”

Please Repeat this another Eight Times!

And there you have the Story of the Jockineze version of what they call the Colour of the Moon as the Calendar moves on!
