1997 P Reg Golf VR6 with vortech supercharger (V4F - the big one!)

Properly setup at Stealth Racing with red injectors and custom map - 281bhp and 265lb/ft torque - fitting cost of £500.

Dragon Green 3 door with standard trim inside.
Pretty much full service history and lots of reciepts.

Currently on 119,800 miles and 2000miles ago had the following work done:

New genuine wheel bearing fitted all round
New genuine auxiliary water pump fitted
New genuine thermostat housing and thermostat and o rings and seals etc fitted
New CV gaitor fitted
New genuine coilpack and ht leads
New Sparkplugs - NGK platinum i think (proper ones for a VR anyway)
New top hose - the old one was weeping slightly so changed before it split, at the same time fresh coolant (VW G4 plus i think - pink stuff anyway!)

All the above parts are genuine VAG with the bills for them and total up at around £675.

New pagid brake pads fitted all round
New brembo brake discs fitted all round
New Toyo Proxies T1-R's fitted all round - 195/50/15
New H&R Cup suspension fitted 60mm front drop and 40mm rear

That lot all came too £680.

Believe me when i say this car has been thoroughly checked out inside and outside and mechanically is pretty much perfect. The only jobs that will need eventually doing are new engine mounts as the power and torque from the engine makes it self known! If i was keeping it i'd fit new standard mounts and see how they felt before going for solid mounts which in the past i've found to be too harsh for a road car, each to their own though of course!

Bodywise the car is in very good condition, it's dragon green which is a bit of a marmite colour i suppose, i like it and it suits the discreet 'Q car' look. There is no rust anywhere on this car that i can see. It's currently debadged front and rear so no VR6 badges. All lights and bodywork are standard factory. The exhaust is also standard, it was mapped with this exhaust on and they flow fine for the power its putting out, i like the discreet look as you can gather.

Inside is also mostly standard, there are a couple of blanking switches missing, there were leds put in them for various alarms etc which have all been removed and replaced with an insurance approved immobiliser. The drivers seat has a small hole in the side of the base but this is pretty standard wear and tear, the rest of the interior is in good condition with no other rips or tears. There is a Kenwood mask cd player, kenwood amp, infinity speakers, around £600s worth of stuff, nice clear sound. All the electrics work as they should including windows and glass sunroof, the MFA works correctly apart from the MPG reading, its convinced its doing around 50mpg, it's probably confused by the supercharger.

Engine, obd2 2.8 vr6 engine with a vortech supercharger with stainless steel braided lines for the charger with oil feed in to the sump, doesnt use water or oil and no leaks. Idles perfectly, and pulls cleanly from low revs all the way to the red line, generally it drives like a normal VR and starts producing boost around 3000rpm, producing the full 8/9psi around 5500rpm, it revs like mad once you are over 4500rpm and will easily pull to the red line in 5th.

I had the suspension and other parts fitted and set up by a local rally prep specialist who also looks after my mk1 16v track car. The front is lowered 60mm and the rear is lowered 40mm so it looks spot on (and most importantly means you can drive it without worrying about the sump being ripped off!), the camber, toe and alignment has been done so it now handles as well as it goes, where as before there was a bit of a delay between turning the steering wheel and the car responding its now perfect, you can easily get down all the power in 2nd gear around a corner without it understeering horribly. Ride quality is superb, it doesn't bump and crash and is well damped, as its not stupidly lowered it easily goes over speed bumps without scraping.

Car has 11 months MOT and 5 months Tax.

Think thats pretty much everything there is to say about it but if you have any questions please ask.

Location: Swansea, J48 of the M4.
Price: £4000
Phone number: 07943 817734

Will consider a part/ex with cash my way, would prefer C36 AMG, w210 E36 AMG or CLK320, but open to anything German with a decent amount of power so no 8v GTi's and the like please!

I can scan and post pictures of the rolling road print out if anyone wants to see it.

Cheers

Nic

Forgot to add, it's 282bhp with roughly 265lb/ft torque :)
