Supercharging?

I would put £500,000 that it doesnt have it.

They are telling you porkies mate.
  Wow! I wonder how much it would cost to get a 'quickie' air suspension fitted. :D

John the investor

John thats what i was thinking :D *off to the dealers to fit one now* :p

In the picture it clearly shows a front spring.

The only thing that sets the ride height are the springs. The air suspension is basicly a bag of air that replaces the spring.

ADS is obviously a different system but goes against what you're saying.

Thats a hydralic system not an air type. But with air the spring is essentially replaced with an air bag. The spring denoting the ride height.

Yes ADS is different.:)

So the what do the citroens and the bentley use?
Is it air suspension or linguatronic suspension ?

( just kidding about the linguatronic)

Standard on the W/V220 as well actually . In fact, wasn't airmatic first introduced on the W220 chassis?

With the W221 only launched a few years ago, surely the W222 is not yet in production??

No need to be confused. I got my 220 mixed up with 221 as the number for the old S Class then added 1 for the current generation model. :o What's the odd digit between friends? ;)

Wow, what a thread!!

In response to your initial post, if you fancy it, then go for it. If you do, try Kleemann in the UK and in Denmark - Kleemann are the experts in the aftermarket supercharging of normally aspirated MBs. You may find it's cheaper to travel out to Denmark to have the work done, so do check.

The common sense thing to do is to buy a C32 but common sense isn't something that can really be applied to modifying cars IMHO. It will almost certainly cost more to supercharge the C320 and upgrade the brakes and suspension, etc. that it would to find a low mileage right-spec C32, but that's not the point. If you wanted a C32 you'd go buy one - there are plenty out there even if a rarity compared to an M3.

If you want to do it, then do it. ;)

PS Most of the faults are common to all C-Classes - not just the C32. The supercharger bearing and heated seat element are two specific C32 faults, there's a well documented fix to the former that a competent mechanic engineer should be able to do (after reading the how to) for less than £100 (rather than £x,000s at a dealer for a new SC unit), and the later is a few hundred quid for a new cover (or less if you replace with a separate element).

Hope this helps...
