been looking into tuning options for my cl500 and found this site www.myhps.com prices from here seem to be quite good as merc tuning goes, but if i were to buy what would be the best way to save abit more.

I toyed with the idea a few years ago - HPS didn't have any UK suppliers at that point (M113 engine).
There is a very long thread on MBWorld about the complexities of this - and whether HPS are actually any good at it. Kleeman are an expensive alternative - however in all honesty you can get a CL55 Kompressor for £25k now.

I also considered this option a while back, but for the cost and potential issues with the gearbox, other components of the car and insurance I decided not too.
I agree with Stats007 you would be better saving the money and buying a CL55 Kompressor.
