Is supermarket petrol ok to use or does it make the engine sound different?

I know a lot of people on here are fond of Optimax.

Thanks
Ian

Sainsbury's do Super Unleaded as well, is that up to scratch does anyone know?

I wouldn't worry. I drive very spiritedly and have never noticed any difference between any fuel. No harm in giving it a go.

My car fills up with 69.9p Tesco unleaded all the time and ive had no problems . We use their diesel too , again , no problems.

Does anybody hear difference in the engine? I mean like the timing sounds not quite as smooth. Mind you I just use cheapest unleaded.
Maybe its me imagining it.

Oh well.
Cheers

When we was in Germany I fille dup at shell - VMAX petrol it was 100 Octane and I have to say I felt a improvment in performance and there was no det up to 120 on hard acceleration under load.
