I found them on facebook and they claiming they can get 1000 Nm of Mercedes ML 420 CDI and they done it already to one of their customers...."This is remap only without any modification to the vehicle...."

That's our short converation:

Mercedes ML 420 CDI 1000NM of torque...

Kris - 1000 Nm???How many Bhp???This is remap only???Can I have more info please.Thanks:)
Super Nova Tuning Ltd - Yes 1000nm of torque, we are unsure on the BHP side as the customer didn't want a rolling road, however torque is what you feel in a diesel rather than BHP, standard the Merc ML 420 Is 306 so we'd expect to see 360bhp after the remap. This is remap only without any modification to the vehicle. Check out our website at Remapping By Super Nova Tuning Norwich Norfolk
Kris - Checked your website already.I have 2008 Mercedes ML 420 CDI(700Nm and 306 Bhp from factory) myself and this 1000 Nm after remap only sound very optimistic...That's huge difference. Can you provide dyno read before and after??? What is price for your remap???

My question is this possible to get 300Nm of torque more just from remap only without any other modification???
What you think about it guys???

Seen the company a number of times on FB, don't really have much information to offer - but will following this thread, sounds interesting.

Would actually be interested to call out a number of companies to prove their figures with rolling road print outs, as quite a number seem to offer optimistic figures with no physical proof.

at a 1,000nms id be worried about how long the gearbox would last.

Until the end of their road. Just long enough to get the shutters down lol

.
You can get that engine in many bodies.
Typically it gives ~900-1000nm/375-390hp.
Not so easy to measure, gearbox is so "soft".

Respected MB tuners tell me that the box will handle the 1000Nm.

Asked over the lagginess of this box and comment was that "not an issue" but could not reduce the lag time.

I got this info from GADTuning (ECU Remapping Essex, London Engine Tuning From GAD) website:

Mercedes ML engine remapping, The Mercedes ML range share many engine and gearbox set-ups as the Mercedes GL Class. This means that through our extensive work with all Mercedes Models and engine types makes us the prime candidate for tuning your vehicle. Through our bespoke Meredes ML ECU remapping to both performance diesel and economy diesel remapping we can achieve what ever the customer requires. This goes for our Performance petrol engine remapping including AMG remapping to once again refine an already brilliant engine and management system. The ML 420 CDI has massive potential for power increases with our bespoke ECU remapping software, we can produce over 350 BHP and over 850 NM of torque, this can be achieved with our DPF removal and EGR removal service which gives further gains in power and economy. With full DPF removal and EGR removal we have seen gains of 4-8 MPG over the standard vehicle.
We can also offer fully custom exhaust system coupled with DFP removal and EGR removal giving the greatest power gains possible for your vehicle. We have achieved power gains on the 420 CDI V8 diesel engine of just over 1000 NM of torque! Other benefits apart from increased performance and economy are extended turbo life due to lower turbo temperatures and lower EGT’s, this will also allow the turbo charger to spool quicker and easier giving a less laboured engine and smoother power delivery and throttle response.

So after reading all this I'm concerned about how come to first tuning company claiming they can get 1000Nm without any other modification and second saying exhaust,DPF and EGR mods are needed???

I used to work for Super Nova as a contractor when they still raced in the now defunct A1GP.

I wouldn't choose to work for them again. But that's just my choice.

Drove ML420 with just a Kleemann chip (900Nm) for almost 3 years. The gearbox held well.

It's not always the peak torque that causes the damage, it is how the torque is delivered.

This was my concern. Can you say a little more please to help understanding.

The 420 is fitted with a PITA (pain in the ass) box and wondered if becomes susceptible or does the increase actually help with a lock in earlier/smoother at take up.

Totally stock S 420cdi
Same engine/transm. as in ML.
Egr deactivated, no need to do any other mods, than softw.

Never heard of this tuner and would be cautious as it does not sound like they have done much r&d and testing with their remap long term. If prepared to take the risk then be prepared to stand alone if anythong goes wrong.

If MB did a V8 420 CDI for the W218 CLS or perhaps next generation CLS for the UK market then I would quite happily by one and have it tuned to gain at least 1000nm plus of torque via a highly reputable tuner.

Cannot wait to take my next new car back over to Germany to be tuned again and have a blast of a trip again!

OM629 was discontinued by Mercedes in 2010.

Hi, just joined MB club. Hope you can help. I have a ML280 V6 diesel with 60K miles, all 6 glow plugs are seized in, my independent MB specialist mechanic says to trade it in. I don`t want to as the car is excellent otherwise. Do you have any thoughts on repair as I was told it may require the cylinder heads to be replaced!
Thanks in advance.
