My Cdi seems to have developed the art of "surging" where on 2 occasions it has momentarily had a "power surge" making the car "jump". It seems to do it when cold. It does this only when cold. Co-incidentally the gearbox oil was changed on saturday but I doubt this would be to do with it.

Air con cutting in and out.?

It hasn't happenned since, however tomorrow is cold and I am off to work early  so I'll report back if it happens.

Normally you can hear the change in engine note when a/c is switched on and on my old mitsubishi shogun you could see the rpm increase when idling when the a/c was switched on. Outside the 220cdi when it idles the engine note change is very obvious.

However this was a more obvious surge and I suspect either an electical glitch causing an overfuelling situation.

Hi - just wondered if you had any more news on your surge issue? I also have a CDi and since the ATF flush I think the torque convertor behaves strangely in cold weather. When it warms up it's fine but when cold it tends to jerk on acceleration and surge at low speeds.
