Bought a new board over the weekend for my 4 y/o PC. About time I moved up to hyper threading CPUs and all that.

The swap has gone well, apart from one thing - how the power switch connects to the motherboard. On the case, there is an in line block that feeds the on/off switch, the LED in the on/off switch and also the HDD activity light. On the new board the connector is totally different.

Short of splitting the block, is there a converter I could get?

Cheers,
Greg

Probably cheaper to go buy a new PSU, most motherboards now require a seperate supply located on a 4 pin connector. Did you tkae into account that you new processor would probably require more power than the last board?

As much as I hate to use them, but PC world do a replacement 400Watt PSU circa £25.00, other than that go see a local dealer who would be able to supply a suitable unit.

Regards Paul.

Thanks for the swift reply, Paul.

Its not the PSU sadly - its the on/off button connector onto the motherboard.

ALL other bits and bobs have gone on the board a treat.
