I have a friend who uses Outlook and wants to swap to Outlook Express. Is there any (preferably easy) way to transfer all the files and address book from O to OE?

Dont do it, OE is a far inferior product. Actually why does he want to do this?

If for no other reason stick to outlook as OE makes it very hard to backup and restore your emails.

Probably for the same reason I use OE. It's got a simple and easy navigated page.:o He's been using OE for years and then for some reason (finger trouble?) his default changed to Outlook and he can't cope with it and wants to change back.

In Outlook, select file, import and export, export to a file, comma separated values (windows).
Select the folder to create the file in.

In OE import and export, import file, select the saved file. Job jobbed.

I used to use OE for all my private email to keep it separate from work stuff in Outlook. There's nothing important in there but after it crashed losing some or all of the mailboxes for the 3rd time I switched to WindowsLive mail, which has been fine.
