Tactrix Openport 2.0 (aliexpress)

i have 2016 x218 facelifted cls 350d car. for my own curiosity and hobby i want to have this xentry diagnosis system without having to deal with expensive interface hardware. having said that, aliexpress tactrix is quite common and good priced. I want to get one but seller descriptions are written with bad english, and i am having trouble to understand some important stuff.

1- they say never to install usb driver from web, and use only the CD software or the ones they provide thru some links, i get this , and clear to me.
2- what i dont get is to cut off internet and never to have your computer any internet connection records. this is the point i really dont understand. some say before connecting the tactrix to computer, just cutoff wireless connection you are fine, and some say your laptop should never have been connected to internet ever before. Seller descriptions say exactly like this:

'Must Disconnect Network, UNABLE connect to network. Also Computer CAN NOT have any records of computer networking. Otherwise, the computer cannot detect device or the LED light does not light up, leading to a direct dead device. If there are records of connected to the internet your computer,Please MUST reinstall the system first . And it is useless to disconnect the internet.'

Does anyone on this forum have experience, understand what the term 'records of internet on your computer' mean? I just cant deal with questions to chinese seller who has no idea on english and interpretation, so thanks to your comments.

not sure if you answered my question, but for yours yes, original tactrix device costs 200+ euros, so china ones are clones.

So thats why they are so eager for it to be connected to the web for any length of time . For the sake of 200 Euros to work on such a nice car is it really worth the hassle. ?

OK smart a$$ stick around I am sure there are loads on many MBClubUK members on here who are bursting to help you with your illegal installation . And I really mean it , why is 200Euros such a big deal when buying a maintenance tool for your practically new MB car ?

And when you do finally get it to connect , can you trust it to work properly ?

If you buy the cloned Tactrix lead, and your computer has an internet connection, Windows will automatically update the driver. The new driver (written by Tactrix) will spot that the unit you have is a clone and brick it. It's unrecoverable and your new lead is now completely useless.

You have to at least have airplane mode on all the time the lead is connected.

Whilst having a cloned lead is wrong I have a suspicion that writing code that permanently destroys something you bought elsewhere isn't exactly legal too.

It is against Forum policy to discuss the purchase and use of illegal software etc.

Cloned versions will never be of much use because MB, ike most manufacturers require authorised diagnostic systems to be directly connected to their own systems for many operations including coding and updating.
