Does anyone have any idea whether a pair of gas struts for the tailgate will break the bank? A quick google turned up a place that will re-gass the old ones

I imagine that if there is a company doing business re-gassing them then they might be quite expensive to buy new.

Well, it was £17 for the pair, over the counter at the dealer.

I am frequently surprised at how reasonable the prices are at dealers, which is nice :)

I bet it was more than that to get them re-gassed wasn't it ?

Sure was - about £20 each I think, for re-gassing. I was amazed when I found out how much for the new struts. I made him go back and check it because I though it was going to be £17 for the fitting clips or the washers or something like that.

It took me about 3 minutes to change them. The tailgate lifts itself up now. Luvly!
