Sorry guys - it's yet another Cosworth thread! :p

I found this Cosworth on ebay.

2.3-16 version with 147k miles on the clock. It looks completely standard, except for the Recaro seats (Classic C's, maybe?) in the front. This is what made me think it's Talbir's. If it is, I wonder what happened the AMG Pentas?

It looks in great condition!

That is pant-wettingly nice, a bit too good for an eBay auction tbh.

Poor advert, few pictures and the wrong way.

Sorry not keen on the colour either.

Cars ok I guess?

I love the 2.5 16V Evo II and I guess if I did ever want one that would be the one.

Yup I think it was his as he had an exaust like that too IIRC.

What I would do to have those front seats in mine....

I wonder where they got the correct Anthracite cloth to retrim the centers of the Recaro C's?....

im pretty sure Talbirs was the 2.5 version??

Most likely cheapest to buy this car and swap them out and sell on!

Yep, that's my old baby....Remus exhaust, AMG steering wheel and Recaro Cs are the giveaway.

I don't get the owner turnover this car is seeing since it left me - is this the 3rd or 4th time it's been for sale since i sold it in May 2007 ???

It was a perfect car when i handed it over.....had all the bits, perfect working Air con, rear blind, electric memory drivers seat etc etc. And no-one is finding those Recaros in a hurry....they are SUPER rare ! I recall i had muppets phoning me up when it was for sale asking me to sell them the seats only....yeah right, like i'm gonna break a car like that !

Where on earth are those stunning color-coded Pentas as well ? Those Cossie wheels look silly in comparison !

Talbir, have you owned anything else with less than 300 bhp ? I'm sure there must be a kia picanto tucked away somewhere :D

Pretty sure the 2.3-16 is around 200 bhp , so i would say the answer is 'Yes' :)

Talbir, are these not normal classic C's that are in say, Jays widebody but with 190E adaper/subframes??

Or are they something else altogether?... W201 16V one offs?

They are Classic Cs (and Jays are Ideal Cs not Classic Cs) but it's the trim that is on the seats....it's the 190 Cossie check trim.

I haven't come across another set like it. and i got those for 600 Euros back then, steal !

Not sold, reached 1900 quid, reserve not met, with only 5 bids....

Sometimes makes me wonder what it is with 'no reserve' auctions & why some people are swayed into bidding on them instead of one with a sensible reserve set, as more often than not the 'no reserve' auctions end up reaching higher figures than one with a sensible reserve due to the inevitable bidding war/frenzy, & 'getting carried away with moment syndrome'.

One thing that is certain is that everyone seeks a bargain on ebay, & a item with a reserve will generate less interest than the same item without a reserve.

So is it a false economy?

What I don't understand on ebay is when the seller makes a big deal of a 'no reserve' auction, yet the starting price is set to, say, £100.

Surely that is a reserve in itself? :dk::wallbash:

Thats exactly what happened when I bagged my cossie, no reserve but the gentleman had a starting price of 2200 quid...which was enough to effectively kill the auction dead before it even started.

Not that im complaining, I got her eventually with a cheeky cash bid that was lower than the SP !

The car seems to be in excellent condition......nice buy for someone.
