Tandem/combined oil pump & vacuum pump

Hi all, there's a strong chance I need to change my 2014 E350 (OM642) estate for something 'a bit higher'. I'm looking at GLC's (around 2016/17/18) as an alternative...but I've been reading some horror stories about the combined oil/vacuum pump, that resides inside the sump, failing with the association terrifying repair cost.
Can someone confirm what engine(s) suffer from this and what models use them please? Thanks very much in advance.

654 2 litre and 656 2.9/3.0 engines suffer with this issue, if the tandem pump was replaced by dealer in history then should be okay

Hmm, some of the GLC's came with the 654. Bugger. A detailed check will be required if I go on n that direction . Thanks .
