Technical training MB USA

I had to smile, I didn't know how to remove the centre panel until last weekend when I replaced my mirror switch, if I'd seen that example clip I'd have known exactly what to do without worrying I'd break something.

I'm looking for Mercedes WIS (their technical information system) but can't see it available anywhere in the UK other than 'copies' costing £100+. I guess MB need to retain technical knowledge as tightly as they can in order that we'll all go to them for anything more than having small stones removed from the treads of our tyres.

Sad thing is I think they would do better business if they opened up EPC and WIS to the private individual, as they'd sell more parts and older cars to people looking to go down the owner-maintainer route.

Just received the Mitchell discs I bought on eBay... have to see how good they are.

They're not bad. mainly specifications and torque settings, but in reality that's enough.

I was informed recently that WIS is available from MB but you have to ask for it. This came from MB training dept.

When I've got time I'll find out.

Ah well...

Not much on these Mitchell disks about W210 at all, it covers C-Class pretty well including wiring diagrams etc and probably others too, but the information presented on W210 and W140 is no more than you'd be able to write yourself (general stuff, not car specific).

WIS is what we need...

I wonder if they will sell these CDs to the general public?

Ive bought stuff like this (in particular R129 service manuals) from MBUSA, they will only ship to USA/Canada addresses, but anyone can buy.
