Teens hire sports cars for prom, thankfully all survive

The rental company would have done credit search and someone in employment would have had to front a large holding deposit, usually in the region of £4K for each supercar hire, so they may needed several card holder volunteers to front the holding deposits.

Online videos show how these pupils (from East London E1), were wrectlessly weaving in and out of traffic and putting lives at risk, creating a huge inconvenience for everyone else that day. Card holders should carry some responsibility here, touchwood they won't get their deposit back 🙊

Innit.

The things that police check at the scene of a crash (after checking the condition of the people involved and providing first aid as needed etc) are insurance (and MOT if applicable) for the vehicles, and breathalysing the drivers involved.

I would assume that if anything wasn't right on the Uru side, the police would have taken action. Unless, as StMarks suggested, the teenagers all claim to not be the driver..... but my guess is that the car was legit.

It would be interesting to know what further developments we'll see once the police analyse the teenagers mobile phone and check for any livestreaming that may have been taking place at the time of the crash. But then again this could simply be a case of an inexperienced driver in a powerful car egged by his peers, which in itself is sadly not a new or modern phenomena.

+1.
However doesn't experiance show us that it is more likely to be.:

"Suspected" driver.: I wasn't driving when it crashed, & you can't prove otherwise.
All others involved.: No comment, no comment, no comment,,,,

CPS.: Insufficient evidence to proceed.
Hopefully soco gets DNA from the driver's airbag to convict him.

And it's about time that insurance companies told drivers that if you are high on drink/drugs etc then the your policy is void and you will therefore be responsible for all costs including the emergency services.

Surely that's already the case? If you drive intoxicated you invalidate your insurance?

I think you will find that he insurer's are responsible for covering all losses to Third Party claimants (so innocent victims will be reimbursed), however because the insured had broken the contract of insurance, the insurance company can then go about reclaiming their costs from their customer.

I bet @markjay will be able to confirm.! ;)

The cause of the accident was the stupidity of the drivers and not their age - plenty of morons in all age groups.
