Hi all
Had some bad news today. Have been hobbling about since August with an ankle problem. Had a minor procedure six weeks ago which I found out today hasn't worked.
Well, now onto my 2nd (large) glass of wine. On a Tuesday too!
Bearing in mind I'd done little personally for the last 4-6 weeks, combined with my use of a crutch, along with the fact it was feeling a bit better meant although I knew what the worst case scenario was, I was actually half expecting "take another month as you've done and you've got away with it".
How wrong can you get - I knew that the tendon was lousy, and the ankle joint had some scarring. Apparently one of the ligaments is ********ed too. Basically what he has to do is some keyhole surgery on the joint, then if he's able to at the same time, slash me open to do the tendon and ligament. Usually only 10-20% of cases he can do like that. If it all goes to plan, it's 2 months in a cast then 2 months r & r, but, as is much more likely he has to do it as two separate procedures I am looking at keyhole in 2 weeks (he wanted to do it tomorrow ), then a month r & r, then the big operation, then four months off after that.
So all in all, crap really. Not an option to put off as if the slightest thing happens, then it's "twang" , and if nothing happens I'll be crippled by 50 anyway.
So right now I'm looking into what the hell I can do (as a cripple!!) to support myself for 4-5 months as there sure as hell is nowhere near the profit I would need to carry me as a passenger in my existing landscaping business.
So my long-whinded question is this:-
Has anyone any ideas as to what job/work I could do for 4-5 months, from home, without being able to walk, which I could do to supplement my income but still allow me the time to make calls/type a few invoices/organise supplies for my business?
