Not automotive - but it is Tesla - and I think very interesting.
Tesla big battery outsmarts lumbering coal units after Loy Yang trips
The Tesla 'Big Battery' is a 129MWh setup.
In the UK we have pumped storage hydro setups like Dinorwig, Cruachan and Foyers that act like big batteries and can inject power into the grid when needed. These each have considerably higher capacity - but tend to need a suitable mountain location with a high up lake/loch and lower lake/loch and several years of construction effort to set them up. OTOH Tesla appear to be able to set things up without the mountain and lakes in a few months. Sounds like the Tesla setup can switch in rather quicker as well.
