Random kindnesses. I went into the local Volvo dealer the other day and one of the parts guys handed me a genuine Citroen 2CV brake drum puller. He said he'd noticed I seemed to like 2CVs and it might be useful to me!

Made my day.

This forum and everyone on it, I've learnt so much since joining up :)

Thank goodness for :-

waking up every morning ---- for sure one day I will not

True enough - there's been the odd morning when I haven't woken up. 4pm's my record so far...

Thank Goodness for:

This wonderful forum ... And all those members who share their knowledge and expertise so generously.
Thanks to you all.

I posted a plumbing query this afternoon.
In 8 minutes, I had the answer.
And this is a M-B forum.
Amazing !!

Postmen and postwomen.
On the whole, they do their best in sometimes terrible conditions for not a great deal of money.
I salute you! :thumb:

There was a man who worked for the Post Office whose job was to process all the mail that had illegible addresses.

One day, a letter came addressed in a shaky handwriting to God with no actual address. He thought he should open it to see what it was about.

The letter read:

Dear God,

I am an 83 year old widow, living on a very small pension.

Yesterday someone stole my purse. It had £100 in it, which was all the money I had until my next pension payment.
Next Sunday is Christmas, and I had invited two of my friends over for dinner.

Without that money, I have nothing to buy food with, have no family to turn to, and you are my only hope.. Can you please help me?

Sincerely, Edna.

The postal worker was touched.. He showed the letter to all the other workers.
Each one dug into his or her wallet and came up with a few pounds.

By the time he made the rounds, he had collected £96, which they put into an envelope and sent to the woman.

For the rest of the day, all the workers felt a warm glow thinking of Edna and the dinner she would be able to share with her friends.

Christmas came and went.

A few days later, another letter came from the same old lady addressed to God.

All the workers gathered around while the letter was opened.

It read:

Dear God,

How can I ever thank you enough for what you did for me?

Because of your gift of love, I was able to provide a glorious dinner for my friends.
We had a very nice day and I told my friends of your wonderful gift.

By the way, there was £4 missing.

I think it might have been those Ba$tards at the post office.

Sincerely, Edna

That's an early start for me!

What makes me happy?

My wife, my dog, my cat, my friends, my local publican

Jerry Douglas is a demon. And I bought Cara Dillon's latest album purely based on the transatlantic sessions. My folks went to see Aly Bain in Scotland purely because of the Transatlantic Sessions.
The BBC is great!

My 10 year old Sprinter - Carries all my equipment and some, and never flinches.

My (soon to be) 9 year old 320 CDI estate - Glides along at a rate of knots and fun to boot.

The help I receive on this forum that ensures they rarely visit a main dealer. I really do enjoy tinkering with these vehicles. :thumb:

Dettol.

I've had food poisoning, and after a wretched night with many visits to the bathroom, this morning, I luxuriated in a hot bubble bath dosed with Dettol. Ahhh..

The female form (in which ever variety floats your personal boat).

Is there anything finer to behold (and they are everywhere :thumb:).

Can it be mere coincidence that this comes exactly 10 hours after you posted in response to this on the caption thread?

Thank goodness for:

The man who invented Venetian Blinds

Otherwise it'd be curtains for everyone.

Thank goodness for this forum. It gives me much needed unwinding at the end of a day and allows me to get new ideas about mods to make my wallet lighter. :thumb:
