My S210 wouldn't start a couple of days ago.
I had been getting a whiff of diesel near the front of the car and having replaced the high pressure diesel pump on two OM613's in the past, I feared the worst.
My optimistic side hoped that it may be a split O-ring that was causing the leak, but I was resigned to having another pump fitted.
The RAC man couldn't get the car to start and it wasn't until I put him in touch with Nick Webster that he got the advice needed to get me up and running again.
Although it was now around 5pm (Nick closes at around 5:30) I drove the car to the garage, got into the loan car and waited for the call with the cost for the new pump and labour charge.
I know that the garage is usually busy and expected a wait before any works could be carried out - I had an appointment booked for the 15th to investigate my non-working horn.
However, late the next day I received a call to say that the horn was fixed and that just a couple of new 0-rings were required to stop the diesel leak.
The garage had no idea that I thought there was an outside chance that the O-rings might be the cause of the problem and could have very easily fitted a new pump, something that I wouldn't have questioned.
This garage is a super place to deal with. You can even get to talk with Nick who spent a long time working as a technician for Mercedes-Benz dealerships, and IIRC helped to set up one dealership from scratch.
The labour charges are very reasonable indeed.
There is even sometimes an option to have used parts supplied and fitted by them - try getting that at a main dealer!
