Thanks again Ian, you've saved my bacon once more...

Popped in to see Mr. Walker yesterday as he had some new rims and tyres for my W210, the previous set being naff and causing some issues but thats another story!

My jaw dropped as I approached the workshop at an utterly spine shuddering CL55 AMG heading into 124 Works and onto the ramps; the chap who owned the car must have liked to tick boxes as it had everything and more when it comes to optional extras. After about an hour of dragging my jaw around the workshop we cracked on with the wheels and in no time had them on and test driven, great job.

As usual I dropped a "while I'm here can you just" bombshell as the cars not been revving over 2.5K and acceleration has been poor. Within 5 minutes a new Mass Air Flow sensor was winging its way to 124 Works to solve all my problems.

Thanks again mate, good to see you again and please have the AMG back next time I visit!

James

Thanks for the post but it looks like you have been banned. I hope it is nothing to do with me.

Well it looks like James was banned for having my web site in his siggy. Seems a little harsh for someone who did not know. Can the mods reinstate him?

If that was the reason why this guy was banned and all he did was come on here to give praise so another regular member, its a disgrace.

LIGHTEN UP AND REINSTATE HIM

The reason for the ban will not have been this thread. It could have been as he was advertising in a signature, I don't know.

surley, a PM informing him to remove it would be better? then if after 24 hours it was still there, then remove it and deal with him.......

its a bit harsh methinks.

Neither did I until I received an email from James enlightening me to the facts. As others will tell you, I requested everyone who made any mention to me in their signature to remove it. I personally spoke to Koolvin the other week and he said it was ok for members to mention that they had been here and that no ban would be forthcoming. However, an unknown (to me) signature link has caused a banning. I somehow feel responsible. Maybe I should leave this forum before any one else suffers the wrath of the mods. I dont want to, but may have to. And that statement will make someone very happy.

God this is getting crazy.... no wonder we are losing so many people.... it's really not the place it used to be anymore....

Wheelie ;) i’m disappointed you think it is becoming crazy - as a previous moderator of the forums you know how difficult managing these forums can be (Crazy :) )

anyway - SilverSaloon:

We did announce (to everyone) we would be taking a zero tolerance stance for advertising and we have obeyed our own rules by enforcing this.

The above user was not banned for this post , why would he? We do always encourage free speak and the user contributed by stating his experiences unfortunately the user was banned (3 day) for a breach of rules as he was advertising a company within his signature -

Why should we have one rule for one person and one for another? Anyway like I said i's only a temporary ban.

We will be reviewing our policy shortly and as its been said im sure there is a better way of dealing with issues like this. SilverSaloon a test coming your way - you have PM.

Thank you.

It's not your fault :) - wth all the effort we put in (rules link, accepting rules bit, notices, announcements etc) and then this happens really does take the strain.

Apologies for being so heavy handed - anyway

What was the AMG in for then ?

Rear diff input seal. Looking forward to test driving it "again":D. This is a very, very sweet car. I feel honored. It comes in quite often for an oil swap etc.

Bet there's nothing wrong with that car at all -- you just keep making him bring it back so you test drive it...:D:D:D:D

At least two posters on this thread are ADVERTISING the sale of stickers (in their signatures) .

I assume these are available at a discount to members
