Went there as I need 2 new tires, then I saw "" fre shocks checking"".
I ask to do it, the guy after quoting me the tires put his hand on the boot, push the car down on both sides and said its all fine
What kind of checking is that? I was expecting a bit more then a tires kicker :).

That's all it takes, seriously! What were you expecting? :)

I personnally think its a bit more than that and would expect a bounce test as described, and an inspection on the ramp for any leakage on the shocks, and/or worn mounting bushes.

As Andy says I was expecting the car on the ramp and a ( even brief) look underneath, He only did the back as well, didn't even bounce the front...

Well, if this is offer for free its to get business, and if you want business you need to do better then that, I think. Nop?
And if I knew it was a press down I wouldn't have bother asked. Anyway, now I know :)

Its not the press down that matters it how it comes back up again and hopefully doesnt go down again on its own:).
