The C43/55 that I 'nearly' bought.

Every car seller (& buyer) is deceptive. It's the nature of the game.

The car stands or falls on it's own merits & the character of the seller (or buyer) doesn't change the car.

The car is what the car is whether the s or b is a sinner or a saint.

Remind me never to buy a car from you.

Don't think you've grasped the core of my argument.

Speak for yourself.

When buying cars through this forum, no-one that I've dealt with has been deceptive.

Really? Even by omission? Every single fault, problem & issue with the car has always been pointed out to you on every car you've ever bought, or sold for that matter?

Is that what you are claiming?

If we are talking about the cars I've bought from other forum members, then yes.

Every fault that the owner has known about has been told to me and I always try my best to tell prospective buyers about any issues or potential issues I've had with a car I'm selling. I've bought the odd lemon in my time though, yes, but not from the forum.

You seem to be saying that if someone buys a lemon, the seller of that lemon shouldn't be held into account in any way, that it's the buyers fault for being trusting?

Agreed.

Have bought 22 cars this year and the majority of sellers have been very up front and pointed out faults that I hadn't/wouldn't notice.
I actually bought a 530d this afternoon and the seller kept going on and on about how rough it was and pointing out every little mark...I really didn't care, it was a dirt cheap car!

I always try to capture every single defect when I sell a car (unless I am part-exing at a stealer). I think it's only fair. I will list every single minimal fault and every single issue I have encountered. It's only fair.

If I was selling this car. I would declare it. As stated above, worst case - he loses 1K. That is nothing. I value my honesty at a higher price than that.
