Car
2017 W222 S350d AMG Line Premium Plus : Iridium Silver and Black Nappa
It's my old gunmetal grey Citroen BX 1.9 GTi

Was a rock solid fast drive with super suspension and a lot of electric goodies I'd never had before. It ended up with a mate after I "upgraded" to a Honda Accord :face palm: . He emigrated with my BX to Barcelona and it ended up on the quayside as some kind of boat store [emoji22]

The only other car I'd have back was an Austin 1300GT blue with a black vinyl roof, which I got for £200 and in good nick. Classic car insurance and zero road tax.

A used 1988 Honda prelude with 4 wheel steer....super fast and pop up headlights, lol! One of my first cars

My Mondeo ST220. Had it from new in 2005. Loved that car and regretted selling it from the moment the guy blasted away from my house in it.

None, they were all sold for good reason... I did contemplate buying back my SL500 but given how little used it was when I sold it, common sense took over.

Nostalgic recall but probably with immediate regret would be my old Metro Turbo.

True regret selling would be a series one rs turbo but I'm sure twenty years later the thing would be in crumbs by now.

Still miss my Clio 172 and my zs180, especially the zs for just how much above its weight it could punch.

1995 5 Series.

My Dad bought it new and I took it on as a cheap runabout 10 years later.

Cloth seats and manual.

Drove it to the South of France one year when the Mrs broke our good car, didn't miss a beat and was a bundle of fun on the morning baguette run across the 3 wet roundabouts between the villa and the shop.

It would have to be my Westfield. I built it myself and ran it for 12 years (Only7.5k miles though). Once we had our second child there was no way to justify keeping it. My eldest still hates me for getting rid of the "Crazy Car", and I agree with her!

I had a rather lovely MGB GTV8 for a few years.

I also had a mk1 RS Turbo.

Not a single regret about any car I've ever sold.

I also have two...

Firstly, a 1986 Peugeot 205 GTI 1.6 which, although it only had 105 BHP, I still think is the best A- and B-road car I've ever driven. I lived in the middle of the Brecon Beacons at the time and it was the perfect car for the terrain.

Secondly, a white 1989 Sierra XR4x4 2.9 that was a great motorway drive and, since it was one of the police's unmarked car of choice at the time, I hardly ever got raced, tailgaited or cut-up by other drivers. I used to enjoy cruising on the motorway at 69 mph and watching cars fast approaching in my mirrors who would suddenly slow down and crawl past me at 69.5 mph.

Chevette HSR... I had to constantly repair or replace bits of it but my word, what a drive!! .

Probably most of the cars I had in the early years of driving - passing test in 1968 at the age of 17. They were nearly all purchased/maintained on a shoestring budget, where if I didn't learn how to fix them, they'd stay broken.

Although many were considered bangers, even back then, a lot of them would be worth a few bob now, if restored - if only....?

They include:

Minivan with side window converstion (hand painted maroon - swapped my Lambretta GT200 for it - that's another major regret!!!)

Mini 850

Mk2 Ford Consul

Mini 850

Austin 1100

Mk2 Ford Cortina 1500 Deluxe

Mk1 Ford Escort 1300XL

Morris Marina 1.8 (crossply tyres - shared the c**p out of me)

Mk2 Ford Escort 1.6L - first new car purchase

That'll do for now.

Phil

Charles, in your case would the answer be the same if the question was about regretting cars you "bought" :)

The answer would emphatically be different! I hate to think of the money I've blown away...

Audi Coupe Quattro 87" No comments needed why! :D :bannana:
