The Carbon itch...

I noticed the same Rash, (I fitted the Carbinio which fitted really well......just hope it doesnt turn yellow).
Performance wise i was running the standard V4 tune up until the MSL day. After Jerry fine tuned it with the Carbinio on (I bought it from Jerry) it just seemed to pull much smoother. On the day it dynoed at 536bhp (Just a standard C63).

One things for sure the renntech setup looks sweet.

Hey Lee! :thumb:

Good to hear from you :thumb:

Yes, your C63 was very impressive on the dyno

As you say, my car seems to run smoother with these intakes on, which was great to see.

It's also good to hear that your Carbonio bits are made and fit well.
The ones I was sent were shocking
As for turning yellow, I guess just keep an eye on it and see what happens.
It may not turn as yellow as some of the ones you find on the net.

Hope you are well and hopefully see you soon enough.

Cheers Rash, It was a great day at MSL.
the next little mod looks like a visit down to Rebellion for the LTH and valve-tronic exhaust.....Octobers looking good, and even the other half says get it done.....so no excuses really. (and that would certainly be an entertaining drive back to Newcastle!!!)

Wow, an other half that consents to mods!:rock::D lol

LTH's will be sweet!

Look forward to reading your feedback.

Looks great Rash. What's next ?

Looks great Rash. What's next ?

Hey Peter!

Thanks bud, I'm very happy with them so far.

As for what's next, I am looking into having one of my engine covers wrapped in carbon fibre to complete the look of the intakes.

I have contacted a company recommended to me by Justin. Just waiting to hear back from them.

Although, I quite like the black engine cover so there's no rush.

Renntech also do some shorty headers for my car, which I am tempted by too.

No body knows anything about the CLK63 and no one makes any headers for it apart from Renntech (that I can find anyway), so Renntech's headers are appealing because they are actually made for my car.

There are headers out there for the C63 but engine clearances will be different, so there's no guarantees that they'll work on my car.

I'll see what happens.

No rush though.

Hope you are well Peter and hopefully see you soon.

I am sure Kleemann does some headers for your CLK Rash.

I am getting some for my C55AMG.

Hey bud :thumb:

Yes, true, forgot about them.

I'll need to look into it quite carefully though.

I don't mind putting headers on my car but I don't what headaches. Emissions, relocating cats, disabling O2 sensors etc.

I'll see what happens.

I'm sure Justin wouldn't mind me mentioning them but I've pm'd you anyway.

I may have a word with you about your guy. Sending my spare engine cover to them to wrap is very appealing...

I've got a contact in Cambridgeshire that manufactures carbon fibre parts for aeroplanes and the like, they're very forward thinking so I could give them a shout about engine covers or whatever and see if they're up for doing something?

rk100,

You have an engine cover to die for. I hope you're not changing it ;)

Hi Alx

Nope don't worry the cover will not be changed - I was just thinking of a few other things maybe........ :)

Hope you are well :thumb:

That's very nice of you.
It would certainly be interesting to hear what their feedback is.

I have to say I didnt think my CF engine bay in the R8 would make that much of a difference but after fitting it I couldnt believe the transformation, it was so worth it so know where you are going with this Rash.

I have seen your carbon goodies and as sweet as they are i think after seeing the R8 tv ad you should rip the ar5e out of it and run it like that one!:thumb:

Tony.

Ha ha ha ha ha.... Love that ad just wish mine spate fire out of the back like that one that does on the over runs. Then again they have removed the silencers and exhaust system for the ad. Which funny enough is the next thing on my hit list for my car. Want a Capristo exhaust system fitted which is very very loud
