and what a car it was.
5 1/2 years and the only real problem was a couple of snapped rear springs.
A sticky roof needed a good clean and lube and that was it.
The M271 was smooth, faultless and whilst never a firecracker had a surprising turn of speed.
Everything I expect from a Mercedes, It was a real looker too, but at 11 1/2 years old it was time for a replacement.

It replaced an R170 and we never really used the rear seats in it, so...

Not as good looking as the clk imho but light years ahead in terms of tech and refinement.
The 250 diesel engine is a revelation in terms of power and refinement - again, no firecracker but no slouch either.
Not huge on the extras, but clearly geared to open top driving with airscarf, airguide, and heated leaher seats with red stitching and seatbelts. Parktronic and park assist are also a bonus.
I’m looking forward to a new love affair. The first weeks are always the most passionate.

My favourite colour scheme, silver with red leather, such classic mercedes colours. Did you trade it or sell it privately?
We're looking for a CLK convertible for next spring.

Good choice look forward to hearing all about it..
