There was a time. not too long ago when spotting quad exhaust outlets on the rear of a car meant you had a cooking V8/10/12. Not any more

I think I'd be embarrassed to climb out of that with those on the back.
But everyone is doing it. Puny 1.4 litre SE Asian cars now sport twin exhaust exits, whereas 10 years ago that meant a V6 or at least a pokey 2lt lump.
But Mercedes are just as bad. Nearly every A and C class has twin exits whatever the engine and even the quads on V8 AMG's are hiding a single pipe each side.
Still at least I haven't had to listen to fake exhaust notes played trough the stereo. Mercedes are guilty of that too.
Anyone got any photos of exhaust howlers?
