There was a time. not too long ago when spotting quad exhaust outlets on the rear of a car meant you had a cooking V8/10/12. Not any moreo_O

Check out this effort on a Ford van

I think I'd be embarrassed to climb out of that with those on the back.
But everyone is doing it. Puny 1.4 litre SE Asian cars now sport twin exhaust exits, whereas 10 years ago that meant a V6 or at least a pokey 2lt lump.
But Mercedes are just as bad. Nearly every A and C class has twin exits whatever the engine and even the quads on V8 AMG's are hiding a single pipe each side.

Still at least I haven't had to listen to fake exhaust notes played trough the stereo. Mercedes are guilty of that too.

Anyone got any photos of exhaust howlers?

Hats off to that yellow Toyota for originality.

I have never seen that before.
And I have seen some cr*p!

Oh how I miss the old Barryboys website....

Google images yields a hilarious collection of increasingly ridiculous exhaust systems.
However, why not just go the whole hog and make a car that looks like a silencer?

The number of Mercs with completely fake exhausts seems to grow by the day....if you want to keep the exhaust hidden under the car that's fine.......but don't put plastic fakes where they should be instead......just makes the whole car look cheap!!
