1st post, though I've been busy reading up on here for a few months
My 2002 w203 C200 Kompressor decided to display its engine management warning light at me on Sunday. Still driving (down the m40) the other half frantically thumbed through the owners manual for me, as I had no clue what it meant.
To cut a long story short, we headed back home (as the owners manual said get the car to the dealers, pronto) a journey of about 16 miles, littered with roundabouts. On the penultimate roundabout, I had to get a bit of wriggle on, to avoid being squashed by an artic, and this when she decided to throw a wobbly on me.
Basically I limped the last couple of miles home, the car feeling like it was running 3 cylinders, etc. with a lumpy idle that shook the car, and felt like it really wanted to stall.
Having read a few similar posts on this forum about some of the running problems that occur when the management light comes on, I can't seem to find anything similar. I know it could be a million and one things wrong, but I'm sure it's ignition related, and not emissions????? Any suggestions???
Any help from owners that have experienced a similar problem, that might be able to point me in the direction of what's causing this, would be greatfully received, otherwise I'll have to get the car recovered to my local dealer or indy
Thanks
