The E63 I now own.

When i had a test ride in a 2015 e63, It felt like i was being repeatedly punched in the back under Hard acceleration lol

Don't you get that cornering in the w211 55k. 😉

I agree with all you say Will. What came over from the two owners was one was saying the 213 is rock hard and uncomfortable in comparison and the other saying the car didn't give him the enjoyment he felt in the 212.

I go into any purchase with an open mind, and like you, thought the 211 was untouchable. But everything moves on and no, I wouldn't go back to a 211 by choice. This 63 is so good, but the 213 may be better. It's outside my comfortable price range for a couple of years anyway.

Dont worry you've got the best AMG E class version. You will convince yourself In the end Rog 😂😂😂😂.

Tbh my Estate 55k performance is Stock, And its enough in the real world, But!! Brutus was 575hp and was certainly on par with e63, Both make my stock 55 seem sedate, But hey its a 7 seater estate family wagon so it suits it fine ;)

Cornering wise i dont push my car's hard enough to find out.

Way more than enough power as you say. It's one of the best family vehicle's on the planet.

Regarding the cornering ability it is a dinosaur compared to the w212 chassis but this is to be expected with the technology and testing MB do with there performance cars. With the latest of generation car on offer. As a cruiser/ mile muncher there is no better than the E55k. Magic carpet is an understatement.

What we must all remember is that dammit spent more on his C55 during his short ownership than he paid for it (as near as dammit...see what I did there) having things done by garages/mechanics that could have been done by any home mechanic, especially on such a simple car. He had an 'open chequebook' approach to ownership of that car.

I applaud that mindset, it makes no sense to me personally as I can do a lot of the stuff that needs doing to my C55 myself, but by sticking to his guns and opening his chequebook dammit has kept a pretty well sorted C55 on the road. well done :thumb: .

Dammit , just reel it in a bit on the new one FFS ££££££ 😁😁😁😁

Well, it looks like I'll be stepping out of a 2006 C55 and straight into* a 2015 E63 on Saturday, so I'll get to compare those back to back.

*A short train journey will separate these events
Excellent, well done!

(and get some photos up when you’ve collected it!)

Those are the ones I have bookmarked for when the time comes to change them.
Don't check the price too often. It seems it increases every time you log on and check the item.
Just under £600 a pair is about the cheapest I've seen them.

£242.13 each today in the Autodoc brake sale.
My mate just got fancy brake discs ordered from his wife for Xmas present. ;)

That's a seriously good price, it is tempting to get a pair and put them on a shelf against the day they're needed.

Deposit paid on WF15 XYM, they've not MOT'd it yet which is why that's not showing up, but apparently the service that MB Wakefield carried out was a B service, so it looks like it's had A/A/A/B/B, and the sales chap thinks they did B because this service was ~4 months later than it should have been.

Apparently the brakes (discs and pads) were green on the MB health check, which they say means that there's plenty of life in them.

I am aware that that comment might be horribly naive.

DSB not updated yet but that is not unusual as they sometimes have office staff entering this or do these in batches.
Saying that though if you were a paying customer you would expect to walk away with a copy of your updated DSB.

Ask them to send the invoice/receipt from MB. ;)

I'd certainly be wanting to see this and the updated MOT by tomorrow if I was picking up Saturday.
Did (are) MB doing the MOT? Would make sense if they have just given it a clean bill of health.

The sales guy is going to send me the recent service paperwork and the MOT. Harratts are doing the MOT themselves, today.

Ensure any extra items due were done with the B service

Filters fluids plugs atf etc.

For anyone whose popcorn bucket has been refilled as per mine, but has lost track of the cars that have been mooted/considered at Dammit's breakneck speed... this is the one on which the deposit has been placed:

It's a beautiful colour and whilst I would stay away from a black interior, it looks great overall. What's the colour on this?

No, it's in Wakefield and I'm in London. If I see it and hate it then the deposit is refundable.
