The E63 I now own.

With over 600hp I’d be buying summer tyres, not like you want to be flying around in pouring rain or worse is it? I personally adjust my driving to suit on my C63, just so I don’t write the car off in the inclement months!
+1 Summer tyres or a full set of winters on a suitable set of rims. Just swap the rims according to the season.
We don't get much snow in this part of the UK, but JonboyE63 does live in a particularly cold spot of Dorset..

I run my cars on summers year round as a rule but I'm quite sure there's a plethora of YouTube videos demonstrating how stupid I am for doing this 😁
So do I.
I'm a Cheap Charlie and don't want/need to be spending on winter tyres;)

I don't mean to be rude and everybody's situation is different... but... IMHO if you can afford and run an E63, you should be able to afford a pair of summer tyres/wheels, and a pair of winters...

I have an E350 with half the bhp and that's what I do... I do live on a farm, though.

We did have snow a few years ago....... :D :D it's cold on the Cranborne Chase..

Yes and no. I see it as unnecessary extra expense. If the weather is that bad I'll use the landy, or a run around car. You usually can't fully enjoy a car like an E63 in very inclement weather anyway, so likely you'll be pootling and therefore the difference between tyres will be much less noticeable.

It is okay for you lot, unfortunately my e63 has no winter tyres that fit 19 inch , 30 and 285 etc which means I'd have to research alternative rim sizes etc and can't be asked... summer tyres for me this winter

You can run winter tyres in a square setup (the size for the fronts) on the standard 19-inch rims on a W/S212, which is what I used to do as my choice of cars for my daily commute were either an E63 or an SLK55...

Got a rear set of Eagle f1 supersports for the w212 e63 s. Stuck it in sport handling mode and put my foot right down and the tyres grip like she's a naturally aspirated motor 🤣 they're for better than the worn p zeroes in the dry. A few levels up at the very least

Glad you noticed the difference! I did this swap and was very impressed 👍

I've had asymm 2s on the car before and they were fine. The last set were P zeros all round and they haven't lasted well at all so back to asymm 5s very recently. Too early to tell about grip mind.

I’m going to be selling this car in the next couple of months, Motorway have said £29,000 which is (being transparent) more than I paid for it- such are the times we live in.

Anyway- should a member want it I’d rather it went to them, so give me a shout.

I’m buying a new VW T6 to drag the bikes around in, and will look for an older V8 Mercedes to go with it.

Just to say that I had a very positive experience buying a car from Dammit (both the car itself and the transaction), so wholeheartedly recommended if anyone here is looking for an E63 :thumb:

I'm going to try and beat my best 0 to 60 drag time of 5.5 seconds in the car this weekend. M3 old M3 from 16 years ago could beat that and my w211 could do it in 4.3 seconds almost every time 😳

On the subject of winter tyres, as long as there's no snow, comfort mode on the e63 is all the winter tyre i need 😅

Have you got a lsd?

Interested to see the results, love a stat! Meant to do 4.1 I think, so 5.5 is rubbish 🤣😉
I've never launched mine or used race start but reckon scraping sub 4 would jusy be doable in optimum conditions...?
What do you use to time?
