First and foremost I REALLY hope he's OK

Secondly, if he's ok I can just imagine the grief he's going to get from the other two. ;)

Fractured knee ! I think it's time for him to give up whilst he's still alive.

Hi,
Sky news reported he climbed out of car himself and was airlifted to hospital.
They reported that he only has a broken knee - so hopefully OK.
He had been taking part in a hill climb event, apparently - in the Rimac (which is around 1200hp electric supercar!)
Cheers
Steve

Does this mean he's not coming on?

Looks like he misjudged the corner. Glad he's OK.

Broke the 'do your braking in a straight line' rule.

Turn in and brake is a sure way to go straight to the scene of the accident. Muppet!

Glad he's not seriously injured.

It's worrying to see how flammable electric cars are... you would have thought they would make them safer than petrol or diesel cars.

Rumour has it the following message might have flashed briefly on the electric supercar's display just prior to the accident "An unexpected error has occurred. Please try again later. If the problem persists please contact Rimac Automobili support. Sorry for the inconvenience."

People can't grasp the concept that for battery powered cars to function immense amounts of energy still have to be stored in chemical form like hydrocarbons . With present battery tech these batteries have to have elaborate cooling systems to permit them to release that energy at a controlled rate compatible with demand. My guess is that following a major accident these cooling systems get compromised allowing the batteries to overheat and a chemical fire follows. Despite this what follows is usually a fire and not an explosion you might get with a hydrocarbon fuelled vehicle. Unless trapped I would offer that electric cars would probably still offer a greater escape window for their occupants than hydrocarbon fuelled vehicles.
In other words they probably burn longer but slower. :dk:
