Just Mot'd the old bus and have the longest certificate possible...a full 13 months...:bannana:

One advisory though...front brake pads worn....er yep, about 2/3rds...about 6mm left and no lights on.

You can MOT you vehicle up to 1 calendar month before the certificate runs out.
If it passes, you get the extra time added on.

Well done DM, But i beat you twice. First, I took the old Merc (just sold) for a test and was told it was still a month too early.

Three days later I took the big bike for a test and was told.....

Thats right, I was a month too early. AGAIN

The point is that you can submit the vehicle for an MOT while it is still currently mot'ed, and take a week or so to effect the repairs while it is still mot'ed.

Or, if it passes first time, to enjoy 13 months trouble free motoring. Or good selling point as Grav888 says.
