The MPG thread

About 21.5mpg(brim to brim calc)over a tank in my cls 500,26 miles a day average speed 25mph mostly urban.

2006 C280 - 6 months of ownership.

Total gallons:149.85 Total cost: £916.06 Total miles: 3431.00 MPG: 24.72

This is mostly around town as I have been recovering from heart surgery and Her Ladyship has been driving it.

Now I'm back at work and returned to mostly motorways it's doing about 32 MPG

2005 C55 AMG

-Best i've ever seen is 25mpg doing 70-80 on the motorway (with a few brisk overtakes of course)
-Get around 18mpg around town

I get 26 mpg on 20 mile runs mainly C class and A class roads with my 300CE-24.

I tend to average around 30mpg generally, on a recent 140 mile round trip on motorways travelling at 70 mph I saw 41mpg.

...that might be a good idea. Does Merc do any???

Here ya go:-

Mine seems to average 18.0mpg also.

This is a mix of nailing it sometimes and leisurely cruise others (probably 50/50).

Full tank lasts me around 8 or 9 working days - 36 miles per day.

If you are torn between a Saab 9-5 Aero HOT Auto 2004 or an E55 AMG 2004, choose the latter as it will return exactly the same as the former.

Frightening.

My W140 S320L averaged just under 10 for the first time on the A-road for a long journey carrying lots of heavy boxes, going at 50mph. Not bad IMHO
