Watchdog could be good publicity. What I would suspect though is the fact you are effectively in competition with MB dealers weakens your "newsworthyness". I also suspect this is the case with regards to Brentford's attitude too.

It shouldn't of course make any difference, looking at the original shaambolic situation they are terrible anyway, but I suspect it is colouring their viewpoint.

On another note, you should go back to them and say that you are dropping the 204 of to them (as its crap) and you want it replaced with something similar to what you drive...

+1 .....you want it replaced with something legal that you can drive without picking up any endorsements........

I had a chat with them yesterday. Again.

I still don't have my car back.

I asked the "supervisor" about the 204 loan car that I have.

I advised them of the defects (one of them is deffective brake lights) and asked them to drop me a replacement as I was worried about my safety. They said no.

I said to them "So you expect me to drive an unsafe car?" They replied "Yes"

You've gotta go legal Olly.....

On that basis I would do the required work to make the car legal and give them the bill. If they refuse to pay take them to small claims court. Its only an online form and a £35ish fee plus you can include the fee in your case settlement so no cost to you.
Bottom line is that its your licence that's on the line!
I would say to write to MB direct about the dealer but I am guessing that they wouldn't care. This really is disgraceful behavoir from a main dealer.
Why didnt they just say pop down and we will sort the bulb? How difficult is that?
Stupid main dealers............

You need to be careful; I think you will find that it is your responsibility as the driver of the car to make sure that it is legal. And as you are a MB specialist you dont even have the defence of "didn't know how to fix it!"

Totally irrelevant what Olly does... he's a customer... So they expect him to fix THEIR loan car with bulbs and tyres.... I'd be so far up the Management tree by now and walk in there in person and not move.....

Olly have you tried to put a proper complaint in to MB Milton Keynes, this has always 100% worked for any situation we I have with a MB dealer. And to clarify, one dealer had the exact same ridiculous and nonsensical attitude as the one displayed in your last post. They quickly changed their minds once they received a call from MB Head Office. Make a big deal out of it or they will not take is seriously. Also they do not take issues like this lightly and you have a very strong case as well.

Why not pop into your local Traffic Police dept, ask them to examine the car, and if unroadworthy issue a PG9 prohibiting its use on the road...........then phone the dealer and say ' come and collect it'

I wouldn't even bother with talking to a supervisor. Go straight to the top....

I have just been thinking about this.

Baldy poped into the dealership yesterday and they would not let him see my car at my request. Could they have damaged it?

I hope they haven't.....

Perhaps you need to appear? Have you spoken to the firm who are supposed to be doing the work?

Seems very bizarre.

Time to put everything in writing to the dealer principal and copy everything to MB UK HQ.

Perhaps it is not there. May be subbed out somewhere.
Possibly now is the time to sent a "buddy" round to have a good look at the dealership and see if he can locate it. Perhaps it is out in the yard not getting a lot of attention and they did not want you to see it look a little sad and neglected.
Certainly you smell a rat and I reckon there is not much wrong with your nose..

Edit.
Sorry read that wrong. Thought you yourself had boldly popped into the the dealership not Baldy. More tonic in the gin please waiter.

How did they know it was at your request? They may just have been protecting your property?

Just being devil's advocate ...

DClass are doing the work now. They are the third trimmers to have has the interior trim. The car is apparantly inside the workshop at Brenford MB

The dealer principle has been notified of the shambles and I await his excuses. If I get no joy MB HQ will be next.

I am starting to get angry now and I don't get angry.
