Thought it was about time to tell my story of E55k ownership!
My E55k Estate came into my ownership nearly 9 months ago. Coming from a 210 E55 Estate that i had really fallen for I was just after a bit more grunt, having come from modified Cosworths, BMW M5s, Audi RS6s etc so the search began. The owner actually contacted me as he had seen in my ad I was looking to upgrade so I got first dibs on her! He assured me she was in stunning condition and only going as he also was upgrading to a bi turbo E63.
Obsidian Black, very late 2003, black and claret leather. Fairly low specced for a 55. Beautiful history, originally a Jersey car. 83k miles. Its rare I turn up to view a car and agree with the sellers opinion but I was blown away. Very nice chap and just the sort of person you want to buy a car off if you know what I mean? Absolutely stunned - money changed hands and off I went.
My wife said 'looks like a Hearse'.
Having borrowed the car for a day and her putting her foot down to 'see what all the fuss is about' it was re nicknamed The Super Hearse.
So ownership costs, she has been good as gold. A service was carried out at a local Merc specialist, replacement suspension arm, straight through her MOT. MPG is now averaging around 16 having started cycling to work - a short 2.5 mile commute. E55s make you healthier!!!
