Personally I'd say it was between Clark and Fangio. Grudgingly I would have to allow that Senna was up there, although he introduced the principle of stock -car racing tactics to F1 - and did he ever smile more than once or twice?
Hakkinen was an interesting one. Before he started winning he was notorious for his party-trick of taking out half the field on the first corner.
Stirling Moss never was Champion and his reputation of being mechanically unsympathetic makes him a doubtful choice but just my opinions.
The list goes on to name the top 50.
 
For me, I'm a great admirer of the old-school drivers. Pre driver aids, pre safety, pre millionaires, where the driver risked all just for the honour of being World Champion.
