The Wacky World of Car Insurance

Go elsewhere is what I did, I was taken aback because I was led to believe that the quote was valid for 30 days. However if you’re happy to be misled then that is entirely your prerogative .
Who said that I or anyone else was misled?

You assumed the quote was valid for 30 days.

Have you looked at the original quote? Does it mention 24 hours? If it does then no one was misled.

Original quote said 30 days. Not worth discussing further.

It would have helped if you had stated that you had been given conflicting information re 30 days and 24 hours.

If the quote was only valid for a day then it must have been stated in the terms and conditions given with the quote.

I was with Esure which is just running out, last year £460 they put on auto renewal when it came through £790 to cancel you have to phone them 1 hr on the phone i never spoke to anyone just hanging on, so i gave up on that and did 1hr and 50 minutes on the computer with their auto bot, they said they was sorry to keep me waiting , I told them to cancel me off, they asked why so i told them keeping me waiting 1Hr 50 min and trying to rip me off, he said would you like us to quote you again, I said what do you think don't ever quote me again. CHECK what they r up to, i have the AA with full breakdown at £600

Mates insurance on his gay evoque gone from £783 to £1504!

Mine came today....up £20....not even going to bother with the compare sights for that....better things to do with my time. Wifes Merc insurance went up about the same....

What if the compare sites offer a significant % saving plus free £20 shell fuel vouchers.......

It won't.....my premium is small (I'm 56 with 35 years NCB who drives a derv!).....I looked last year and only couple bof companies I'd never heard of were a few quid cheaper.....got better things to be doing to be honest! I'll hunt properly when I change the car...hopefully soon.

I thought our premium was small, but Admiral still try to double it each year. We renegotiate annually based on less add-ons, higher excess etc, so are now down to bare bones fully comp, driver only with £1k excess. :(

Good price....IMO CLS models seem to have disproportionally higher insurance groupings than the equivalent W212 E class models. "Coupe" tax I guess!!

Yes, but, the CLS is not a coupe. I think premiums are based on claim statistics, so CLS are presumably more likely to be crashed/stolen.

I know it's not....but Mercedes sell it as one in the same way they sell that FOUR door estate as a shooting brake. They make it up as they go along.....who cares what the dictionary says!
The C in CLS stands for Coupe (Coupe Light Sport according to Mercedes).

Like for like, E-class vs CLS, the CLS seems to be 4 groups higher.

Glc 2023 - 36 and 9 years ncd - £1208 and 1250 excess renewal quote with aviva 🤬

Now the main driver for that could be sw London. All the comparison sites started at 1400 so I guess I should be thankful.

How is a van insured as a car?

I only use my van to cart my own £hite about so no "hire and reward / commercial" insurance required. So just insured like any other car.
