Yep after two years in orbit the X-37B US space drone landed yesterday at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. The US remains tight lipped about what its been doing while up there.

Makes you wonder what they have been up to, 2 years is a very long time to study something

It is basically a spy satellite that's quickly moveable and has a sensor package that can be changed at any time. Unlike a normal spy satellite, it's sensors can be upgraded any time or repaired if broken - they simply recall it, do the upgrades and re-launch it.

Perhaps they are too embarrassed to admit that they lost contact with it just after launch and they have'nt got a clue what it was doing up there all this time... :D
