The X-37B has landed!

Yep after two years in orbit the X-37B US space drone landed yesterday at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. The US remains tight lipped about what its been doing while up there.

It is basically a spy satellite that's quickly moveable and has a sensor package that can be changed at any time. Unlike a normal spy satellite, it's sensors can be upgraded any time or repaired if broken - they simply recall it, do the upgrades and re-launch it.

Perhaps they are too embarrassed to admit that they lost contact with it just after launch and they have'nt got a clue what it was doing up there all this time...
